Do your Ways Please the Lord?

Do your Ways Please the Lord?

When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7

Many at times, when we think or perceive that the devil is working through someone we identify that person as an enemy and become hostile in our dealings with that person. However this is not the way of the Lord. Spiritual warfare is to be targeted at evil spirits and not at human beings. We need to show love in our dealings with others and act towards them in ways that please the Lord.

The Scripture above harmonises with similar verses in other parts of the Bible. In Proverbs 25:21 – 22, we are told to feed our enemies and give them water to drink and in doing so, we would be heaping burning coals on their head. In Romans 12:19, God says vengeance is His and He will avenge. In Ephesians 6:12, we are reminded that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

At the core of spiritual warfare is an unshakeable trust in the Lord that He is the one who fights our battles for us. This does not mean that we do not engage in warfare prayer; we do. But we wait on God in the process, trust in Him and act only on His instructions.

When our ways please the Lord, He causes our enemies to be at peace with us. Let’s take our battles to the Lord in prayer and watch Him fight for us. May our ways please the Lord so He will cause our enemies to be at peace with us.   Shalom.

It’s good to be good but ….

I do not know if the verse is speaking in terms of possibilities but it very much comes off as an absolute.
More often than not in reality, people who uphold good virtues are destroyed sometimes to their death. Where’s the peace? Where are the burning coals? What you give is not always what you get. Good seeds and soils do not always produce a good harvest. It’s a probability issue but you posit it like it’s an absolute. Good virtues are good but they do not always make peace with your enemies, may be I’m missing something

I believe the Bible is speaking in terms of absolutes rather than in terms of possibilities or probabilities. The righteous may suffer some affliction but the Lord would uphold him. A wicked man may appear to thrive but it is only temporary. Look at it with the end result in mind. Also read Psalm 29:11 and Proverbs 37:35 -40.

Yeah, brilliant message, I thank God your spirit is yielding for the word. But can we please lay emphasis on this scripture Ephesians 12:1-2. It’s really vengeance is of the Lord. Yes,we some times perceive the act or the thought of our colleagues or anyone that we mingle with of attacking us. Meanwhile it is not himself but rather was possessed by an unclean spirit against us. So the Scripture is also saying we should put on the whole amour of God When we continue to verse 17. Meaning anyone who carries the amour of God is already prepared. Scarcely will powers possess him against his fellows. And before man will perceive it, it takes sensitivity . So please we can love them, pray for them for deliverance but our inner mind has to be on guard about them, since they were possessed against us before, they are still dangerous. And to the
other scripture, the question is how do we live a life that pleases the Lord, holy and acceptable Romans 12 verse 1-2 ? Holy and acceptable consists of a lot of things. The mind, the body itself. How do we go about it to achieve this? God bless you for the enligtenment. Lovely message

We live a life that pleases the Lord by depending upon the Holy Spirit and relying upon the power of the Holy spirit to overcome our weaknesses.
