Staying on Red Alert

Staying on Red Alert

It happened a few years ago. I belonged to a church group that goes to evangelize and follow up on converts after church. On one of those occasions, I reached out to a fairly mature guy who was not grounded in Christ. He seemed to take in my message pretty well. It led to phone calls, messages and follow up visits. I was not ignorant about the traits of carnality so I was transparent about my dealings, as I prayed along.

On one of my visits at his house, he offered me a drink. I declined. The next thing I knew, he was all sweaty and wanted to turn our godly conversation into a lustful one. He complimented me on my perfume, clothes, physique, name it. I got the hint and I thought, “oh no, why today?” On that day he looked cute, decent but flirtatious. How I stood firm on my grounds, was a miracle. Nobody, no matter how spiritual, is above temptations. I managed to flee the scene but only

God knows what would have happened if he forced his way through.

Everything has challenges, whether in Christ or out of Christ. When the Bible says flee ( in 2 Timothy 2:22):
1) it means run, not giving excuses

2) it means show displeasure. Do not try to be nice or play along.

It takes split seconds to sin, you can never be sure of the exact time. So if you have the opportunity, please do well to FLEE.

God bless you for sharing. We must learn to flee and be extra vigilant when dealing with the opposite sex.

God bless you Richil. You did well by not ignoring the signs of danger by fleeing.

We should ideally have another person accompany us when we embark on such planned missions to win souls or follow up. Luke 10:1 & 3. Just be wise. For many men of God failed to heed the word and the lust of the flesh prevailed.

You may find yourself alone in some unplanned situations, usually in a public place where you feel the urge to share the word or try to win a soul. That is different.

After all it’s not about our personalities but the ‘Grace of God’ . He gives the increase after another has even watered what we planted. 1Corinthians 3:6.

Jesus dispatched the disciples in groups.

God bless you abundantly. Thanks for being a faithful servant.

    Wow… Such a deliverance!
“God Knows what would have happened if he forced his way through” I think God preserved you so you could share this very important lesson… Two is ideal to do follow ups.

You have demonstrated the difference between a Christian and churchgoers.
It took me 40 years plus of my life to finally settle on what a Christian life should be.

I used to struggle with sin. The bad news is that once I win a battle against sin today, it takes only a few days before I am back to commit the same sins again and again.

The Bible said that God’s children do not struggle to do the will of God. I used to listen to that like a joke, until recently, when I started a relationship with God. I wasn’t focusing on my sins but a daily struggle to read the Bible, meditate and seek His presence the whole Day irrespective of my location. I will just be thanking God in my head and meditating on his greatness.
Before I realized, I was closer to God and He was closer to me. I am not able to even think of the sins I used to struggle with. I am living a free life now and I continue to encourage those around me to do the same.

Brilliant story and I believe it will change many lives. I just added knowledge to my knowledge bank.

It is by grace that we are not consumed. So touched by your personal story Richil and how God empowered you to flee this temptation. Glory be to God.

Awesome . Thanks Susie. That’s a very relevant lesson. When you’re doing all you can to fulfill your Christian duty, there is a temptation to give up because of the mix reactions you receive most of which are not pleasant at all. But everything has risks and I’d rather take huge risk on God’s side than take vain risks because the former comes with a glory far weightier than the risks. Thanks for sharing once again sis. God bless you.

There is a time for everything. A time to flee is indeed a time to flee. God bless you for sharing. We must do a lot of fleeing on our phones and other screens these days.
