Today is the day of salvation

Today is the day of salvation

While it is said: “Today if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” Hebrews 13:15

I was watching a movie the other day and it was a rather compelling one. A young man had fallen in love with a beautiful lady and yearned to be in a relationship with her. However, with teary eyes, he looked into her face and told her that he still thought of his ex-girlfriend and wanted to be with her. This lady looked at him and smiled. In a gentle but clear voice, she said “I am not always going to be here waiting for you”.

You may have heard of Christ’s love for you and you may even be yearning to start your relationship with him. However, the present may be so enticing that you are probably finding it hard to tear yourself away from it and embrace what God has in store for you.

My friend, the truth is that Jesus is not always going to be smiling at you with open arms waiting for you to make up your mind. There’s going to be a time when His invitation would expire. It would be no longer live (to use the tech term). You need to make up your mind about His invitation so you can embrace the abundant life He has in store for you.

The (thief) devil came to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus gives abundant life (John 10:10). Life in all its fullness. True living starts with Jesus and continues with Jesus at the centre of it.

If you are ready, you can say this prayer. “Heavenly Father, I come to you today. I am sorry for my past. Forgive me and make me a new person, in Jesus ‘name. Amen.
