Hallmarks of Effective Leadership I
All over the world today, there’s a call for effective leadership. Nations are crying for leaders who would lead them out of the crisis created by COVID 19.There is a direct link between effective leadership and the growth of any organization. A leadership expert, John C. Maxwell, has described this as the law of the lid. What are the hallmarks of effective leadership? What insights can we glean from the Bible in this regard?
The Cambridge International Dictionary of English defines leadership as the set of characteristics that make a good leader. It is further defined as the group of people in control. Leadership qualities that we can glean from the Bible include service, commitment, courage, sensitivity, humility, love and a good example.
Leadership is service and in service, we find greatness. Many leading brands today were created out of a need to serve the needs of the community. Jesus said that if anyone wanted to be the first, he must first be the servant of all (Mark 9:35). He exemplified this by washing the feet of his disciples.
Leadership also involves sacrifice. Jesus literally sacrificed his life for us so that we could live. True leaders, sacrifice their time or money for the sake of the people they are leading. Nelson Mandela was willing to be imprisoned for 27 years so he could lead his people out of apartheid.
In addition, leadership requires commitment. Leaders must be able to stay the course and keep pursuing the vision in spite of detractors. In the pursuit of a vision, there would be some impediments in the leader’s way, but the leader must focus on the end (Habakkuk 2:3). As such, leaders must awaken to the reality that the vision may not even materialize fully in their tenure or their lifetime.

A leader must remain focused .
Awwww. The most painful thing in life is to start fighting for something good and all of sadden you have realised that the result of your efforts will materialised after you have left office and those behind you are the ones who will enjoy your sweat. It takes only God’s and a sound knowledge like this to accept this.
God bless you for this great lessons full of Wisdom

Great read..looking forward to the continuation.

Yes. Leadership is a position everyone attains at a given stage whether or not prepared for. Leadership is not up to who is called but who watches. Because you most likely become what you watch or follow.
