Shine on!

Shine on!

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 NKJV

You are God’s show piece! Imagine that God was a master craftsman who designed an artwork, be it a beautiful painting, sculpture etc. and after that put it in a show window for display. That art work or show piece is you!

But the story doesn’t end there. He created you for good works. What are good works? The list is endless. Good works include anything you do using the wisdom, intellect, gifts, talents, wealth etc. that God has given you. In the grave, buried in the depths of the earth are books that were never written, songs which were never sang, plays and movies which were never acted, academic degrees that were never achieved, businesses which were never built, ministries that were never started etc. …

You may have asked yourself this question. What is the link or bridge between where I am now and where God wants me to be?

The answer includes this piece of advice – keep shining where you are. If you are in a department in church keep serving faithfully. Your moment would present itself. Consider how Elisha served Elijah and the reward of his service to Elijah; contrast that with Gehazi’s service to Elijah (1 Kings 19:19 -21, 2 Kings 2 & 5).  Faithfulness, honesty and diligence would usher you into your destiny.

Joseph had a dream that one day his parents and siblings would bow down to him. The dream meant that he was one day going to be a prime minister. What was the link between where he was and the dream? It was in his faithfulness, honesty and diligence wherever God put him.

Kent Keith said “the good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow, do good anyway. If you are kind people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives, be kind anyway…”  Shine on! You are a city on a hill that cannot be hidden. A light on a lampstand giving light to all who are in the house. (Matthew 5:15)

Shalom!

We are truly created unto good works.
As rightly said in Matt 5:16; let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and praise your father in heaven.

Keep up with the good job. Blessings!
